The
Chattanooga Area
In the greater
Chattanooga area, we not only utilize the many public and private land options
around us for hiking, climbing, paddling, and other activities, we also own
and operate a full low and high ropes challenge
course at The Greenway Farm in Hixson, TN as well as the Walnut
Wall climbing tower in Coolidge Park. Full programs are available at each
location, in addition to walk-up hours at The Walnut Wall every Friday-Sunday.
For more information regarding either location, click the links above.
Mentone, AL - Located just into AL on Lookout Mtn., Mentone is affectionately known as "Camp Town" in the Tri-State area. Mentone is home for several of our partner camps, and many of our retreats in the Southeast are held there. Those partner camps include:
Alpine Camp is a truly beautiful retreat location. The camp's immaculate grounds include a very large game field next to a large post and beam, open air gymnasium, and a great waterfront along the Little River. Groups have a wide array of activities to select from including a Challenge Ropes Courses, Hiking, Canoeing, Waterfront, activities, Climbing Tower, nearby Rock Climbing. Alpine Camp is one of the few retreat partners we have that have winterized facilities. With the completion of their new Deerfoot Lodge and additional cabins at the Ridge, Alpine can accomodate winter groups of nearly 80.
Groups have two options at Alpine Camp. Groups with fewer than 50 can stay at The Ridge Cabins. All cabins have bathroom facilities and are fully winterized. Groups that number from 75 - 300 utilize more of the camp staying in the "mountain, ridge, and canyon" cabins. With the exception of the ridge, all sets of cabins are serviced by girls and boys bath houses. Groups of 75 or more take meals in the beautiful Alpine Camp Dining Hall.
Camp Laney's famous saying, "safety's first but fun is number 1", stays with your group from the moment you arrive. Kids pile out of busses or vans and immediately start playing at the ping pong tables, tennis courts, basketball gym, or the amazingly large sports field. Groups stay in nice, rustic, camp cabins that surround the sports field. Each cabin can hold from 8 to 15 kids. Rest room and shower facilities are in most cabins. One set of cabins is served by a central bathhouse. Camp Laney offers some great activity options including a Challenge Ropes Course and Climbing Tower, nearby rock climbing, canoeing, and all the accompanying activities camps are known for....group games, sports, and even a large group camp fire assembly. Aside from all the other outstanding features, Connie, Dink and the gang serve up the very finest in kid-chow anywhere. This is food that you truly look forward to eating. Camp Laney is a favorite location for many of our school retreat clients.
LaForet Conference and Retreat Center is The Adventure Guild's new hub of operations for our Western programming. For several years we had been searching for the perfect CO location for our team building, ropes course, and adventure retreats when Lafort approached us about a potential partnership. Personally, we couldn't think of a better place! Located on 400+ wooded acres just 15 miles north of Colorado Springs, Laforet is a truly gorgeous facility. With lots of lodging options, new meeting spaces, excellent high and low ropes challenge courses, an orienteering course, the VERY cool mission chapel, and lots of wonderful, open pine forests, and stunning views of Pikes Peak, it's the perfect location for a single day adventure program, weekend retreat, or weeklong summer camp. Through our close partnership with dear friend and Cross Bearing Adventures owner Kent McIlhaney (as well as other local CO adventure facilitators)The Adventure Guild is able to offer a plethora of offsite adventure opportunities to supplement our full slate of ropes challenge course options, including rock climbing, rappelling, whitewater rafting, hiking, and the opportunity to scale a 14,000 ft. mountain. As part of our partnership with LaForet, The Adventure Guild is now serving as the exclusive provider of ropes challenge course programming at LaForet. More information regarding The Adventure Guild's special CO program options will be posted soon, so check back, or feel free to email us or call us at 719-649-5179!
