1. Professional Programming Experience that Impacts Our Designs.
We are not only builders, but also active adventure programmers that touch thousands of lives per year through our various services, not counting the thousands that we impact indirectly through our training of camp staff and adventure facilitators. Very simply, we know adventure intimately, and we bring that experience to bear on the design of every course, tower, or wall we build. We talk at length with every client about their program to make sure that what we build perfectly suits their current needs at the time, while also providing opportunity for future expansion as needs and desires change. Nowhere will you get a more personal approach to a building project.

There are several qualities that set an Adventure Guild ropes course, tower, wall, or zipline tour apart from others in the industry:

2. Commitment to the Highest Standards of Quality, Safety, and Longevity
As a matter of company policy, we "over-engineer" our projects, not only so that they will meet and exceed all established industry standards, but also because we want them to last and continue to serve our clients for many years to come. As a result, you will find things on our courses and towers that you won't find on some other companies' products. Things like smooth, beautifully routed "hand friendly " edges on all lumber and nice, slick, cable terminations. What you won't find is shoddy workmanship, protruding wires or tacky electrical tape serving the ends of our cables.

3. Our Value-Added, Full-Service Approach
When a client chooses us as their builder, they not only get a product that meets their needs at a reasonable price, they get a friend an advocate, and an advisor for their program. As a full-service company, not only can we build a course or tower, we can also provide the needed equipment, train the staff, take care of inspections and needed repairs. But beyond that, we can provide guidance on programs questions or suggest creative new ways to utilize your course, tower or wall.

Ropes courses, climbing towers, climbing walls, and bouldering complexes can be built as stand-alone projects, or as parts of a comprehensive adventure facility. One of our goals as a company is to provide the same individual attention and quality for each of our clients, whether we are doing a small repair or addition to their tower or course, or building them an entire adventure complex.

Below is a brief list of options that are available through our building and training services:

Ropes Courses

4-sided Towers - Provide more flexibility over a 3-sided tower in that they provide an additional side which is often developed as a dedicated rappelling face, a vertical playpen, or dangle duo. Our towers are very versatile, both because they can accommodate any number of feature variations, but are also designed so that features can be added easily and economically at a later date. That allows a client with limited funds to build a basic tower with only a few features, and then continue to add elements in subsequent seasons until their tower is complete. Depending on the programmatic needs, towers can have many variations of internal decks and ladder / stair systems. Both 3 and 4 sided towers can also be connected to either tree or utility pole ropes courses.

Ropes Course and Facilitator Staff Training

Professional staff training is one of the most important, yet overlooked aspects of ropes course and climbing tower usage. Many, many camps and adventure facilities rely solely on internal training year after year, which can lead to the development of bad habits, a slackening of diligence, and ultimately an unsafe operating environment. Industry standards suggest that camps and adventure providers utilize a third party for their training at least every other year. This refresher helps to sharpen the program and plug operational holes that increase the potential for an accident.

For nearly 15 years, camps and other adventure providers have relied on The Adventure Guild to provide their staff with top-notch ropes course and climbing tower training, in not only the hard technical skills, but in soft (people) skills as well. In 2005 we added an entire section of training for Christian camps that teaches their staff to process adventure experiences from a faith perspective. So whatever your staff training needs are large or small, extensive or simple, we can provide it.

At the end of the day, when it comes to new construction, course inspections, additions or repairs to your current course or tower, or staff training, and the procurement of adventure equipment, we are your one-stop provider. For information on any of these service, call our office at (423) 266-5709 or email us.

Tree Courses - Courses built in existing trees are typically less expensive to build and have a very warm and inviting feel, but require more upkeep and maintenance.
Pole Courses - Courses built using utility poles are very versatile and require less maintenance, but are typically more expensive to build and can be somewhat less inviting to participants
Low Ropes Courses - Low challenge courses can be built using trees, utility poles or existing structures. These challenge elements are built low to the ground and don't require a belay system. However, they do require special staff training to use properly and safely.
Climbing Towers
3-sided Towers - Provide a great option for camps or other facilities who don't need a large climbing surface, or who don't require extensive options in their climbing features.
Just a few of our optional climbing features:
4 ft. Roof
The Nose
Low Angled Slab
side and front views

Double Trouble
Double Arete
Bouldering Complexes
And Indoor Walls
We have nine standard, modular features that can be added to any 3 or 4 sided tower. Additionally, we custom build other individual features to meet the programmatic and creative preferences of our clients who are looking for something a little different.
Outdoor bouldering pods and indoor climbing walls are often a great addition to an adventure facility or camp.
We bring the same attention to detail, creativity, and quality to our bouldering complexes and indoor walls as we do to our larger outdoor projects. We even have some really cool ideas for using your tower, indoor wall, and bouldering pod to that will give your camp climbing program an enthusiastic shot in the arm and give participants a reason to scratch their way up those imposing roofs and overhangs! Don't forget to ask us about our Mountaineer Program!

There's nothing quite as fulfilling to us as leading participants through high-impact adventure experiences! However, creating adventure environments and teaching others to lead participants in adventure experiences certainly comes close. For many years The Adventure Guild has been building ropes courses, climbing towers, indoor climbing walls and bouldering complexes, along with providing technical staff training for camps and other organizations all over the region. As a builder, we pride ourselves, not in being the biggest company around, but in providing only high quality, visually impressive, and programmatically workable adventure elements for our clients. We don't send out teams to slap up any old ropes course or tower as quickly as possible, which may or may not meet the programmatic needs of the client. Our courses, towers, walls, and bouldering complexes are all custom-designed to meet the particular programmatic goals and needs of each individual client and are constructed with an eye for functionality, participant enjoyment, safety, and visual appeal. We also build, inspect and train to not only meet, but in most cases, exceed industry standards as set forth by The Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA), and the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). We hold membership in both organizations, and are an Accredited Vendor with the PRCA.
